In 2005 Mr. Haksar was threatened with a lawsuit by the Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Private Limited, a subsidiary of the Atlanta based Coca-Cola company for placing the first image in a large billboard in one of Chennai's (one of India's largest cities) busiest areas. The billboard features the ubiquitous red Coca-Cola wall painting, commonly found across India, behind a dry water hand-pump, with empty vessels waiting to be filled up with water (severe water shortages have been experienced by communities that live around Coca-Cola's bottling plants across India)
But that was just a fact, what I really like about these pictures is how the logos and slogans can be decontextualized...
